Performing Collaborative Scholarship

CPLongChristopher P. Long is Associate Dean for Graduate and Undergraduate Education and Professor of Philosophy and Classics in the College of the Liberal Arts at The Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of an enhanced digital book, Socratic and Platonic Political Philosophy: Practicing a Politics of Reading (Cambridge, 2014), and two other monographs, Aristotle on the Nature of Truth (Cambridge, 2011), and The Ethics of Ontology: Rethinking an Aristotelian Legacy (SUNY, 2004).

Over the past ten years, he has been a leader in using social media technologies to cultivate communities of learning and research in philosophy and the digital humanities. His podcast, the Digital Dialogue, has over 70 episodes, and can be found on his website: cplong.org. He also has two active twitter accounts, @cplong, where he tweets about his work and life, and @deancplong where he tweets about issues associated with his administrative work. Chris infuses the principles of collaborative scholarship into his teaching, research and administrative life.
